I can’t deal with kpop fans that see the blatant colourism their faves do, and just go “it’s part of korean culture! shut up with your eurocentric view on asian cultures and their standards of beauty!” Can you not see how degrading it is for kids born with a darker complexion being seen as less beautiful or uglier than those with white skin??? How do you think that messes with them mentally and gives them such horrible self esteem issues on not being seen as beautiful enough and receiving comments on their skin being “too dark”? Even your favourite idols like N, Kai, Yuri, Mino, V, Seolhyun, Hyorin and so many others get shit thrown at them from fans, family, and even their friends as “jokes” or even from fantaken pictures edited to make them look “prettier” by whitewashing them. Don’t you think they deserve to think their skin colour is beautiful? Aren’t they allowed to think of themselves as beautiful without pale skin but with their tan skin? But hey, that’s just “korean culture” and were not allowed to talk about the negative sides of it, right?
